Make a Difference: Donate or Sponsor!
There are many ways to make a difference to the Resilience Racing team! We are an all-volunteer team, and our cancer survivor racers pay nothing to participate in our regular programs, and pay their own way for travel programs. We do everything we can to keep overhead low, including spending time doing our own maintenance on the boats, from sanding and varnishing to patching sails and scrubbing decks!
Here are some examples of how our funds are put to use in an efficient and impactful manner.
We accept both donation and sponsorship — reach out to learn more about how sponsoring Resilience Racing can bring visibility to your brand in sailing, healthcare, wellness, or other areas!
Additionally, all donations are tax-deductible, maximizing the impact of your generosity and support.
You can also set up to donate a small amount weekly or monthly to support cancer survivor resilience.
What $100 can do: Sailing kit for new sailors!
Smaller donations help a lot! We often have new sailors join our team and start to learn, but after just coming through an expensive cancer journey with medical bills and sometimes loss of employment, it’s hard for them to afford basic sailing safety gear such as a pair of sailing gloves, safe non-skid deck shoes, or a personal floatation device (PFD) that’s more comfortable than our beat-up loaner ones. Help a cancer survivor and newbie sailor get into the sport with a donation that can support them getting the right gear and being safe, warm, and confident on the water. Even a donation of $10 or $25 can support the equipment any racing sailor uses on an everyday basis.
What $300 can do: A season of race entries!
With race entry fees ranging from $50 - $300 each, donations in this range can help us sign up for more events and participate in more races every season. Your support at this level would cover race entries for an entire season, enabling our team to compete in prestigious events like the Master Mariners Regatta, the Great Vallejo Race, the Jessica Cup, and weekly club-level racing in the San Francisco Bay. Participation in these events is crucial for our participants to gain valuable competitive experience and foster camaraderie. By contributing, you help us provide these opportunities, ensuring our team continues to grow, bond, and excel in the sport of competitive yacht racing.
What $2,000 can do: A month of Resilience!
With our all-volunteer staff, $2000 goes a very long way! A $2,000 donation to Resilience Racing covers our essential operational expenses for an entire month. This includes critical costs such as insurance to protect our team and vessels, dock fees for mooring our historic Farallone Clipper class boats, and regular maintenance tasks like hiring a scuba diver to clean the hull to ensure our boats are in optimal condition and speedy on the race course. Your generous contribution ensures the smooth running of our programs, allowing us to continue empowering individuals through competitive yacht racing. By supporting these vital aspects, you help us create a safe and effective environment for all participants.
What $50,000 can do: A WHOLE YEAR of Resilience!
A $50,000 donation to Resilience Racing funds a full year of our program, significantly impacting more than 50 sailors and cancer survivors to help build their lives back in a positive fashion on and off of the water. This extremely generous contribution level covers not only the essential expenses such as race entry fees, boat maintenance, insurance, dock fees, and participant gear, but also helps us make critical upgrades year after year, like replacing tired sails, ensuring all of our boats are in bristol shape, and adding new safety equipment to the boats. By ensuring our historic Farallone Clipper class boats are in top condition and our sailors have access to the resources they need, your donation enables us to offer training, competitive experiences, and a supportive community. This level of funding allows us to create lasting positive change, fostering resilience, building maritime skills, and enhancing social support among participants. Your support ensures we can continue to empower individuals through the transformative power of competitive yacht racing, making a profound difference in their lives and helping them navigate their personal journeys with confidence and strength.
